Middle-earth Shadow of War Plot:

Shadow of War carries on the plot from Shadow of Mordor by following Talion, who is still imbued with the Celebrimbor, the elf lord’s spirit. Then Celebrimbor and Talion go for Mt. Doom, where they work together to create a fresh Ring of Power that is untainted by Sauron. But as soon as the Ring is finished, Shelob kidnaps Celebrimbor, keeps him hostage, and demands that Talion trade the ring for Celebrimbor. Despite his reluctance, Talion agrees to give the Ring to Shelob because, according to him, they share an adversary in Sauron.

She utilises the Ring’s ability to look into the future to provide Talion with directions to Minas Ithil, the final Gondorian stronghold in Mordor. The presence of a priceless Palantir in this city is what has caused it to be under siege by Sauron’s soldiers. Palantir’s ability to give its owner complete access to all they can imagine makes it both a useful tool for Celebrimbor and a terribly lethal weapon in Sauron’s hands.

When Talion arrives in Minas Ithil, he discovers Celebrimbor right away. Talion then wishes to aid the inhabitants of Gondoria, although Celebrimbor is adamant that the city has already been lost and that the recovery of the Palantir should take precedence. Talion meets with the city’s defenders, including General Castamir, Idril, his daughter, and Baranor, his lieutenant, on the grounds that defending Minas Ithil will also mean defending the Palantir.

They coordinate their efforts and are successful in slowing the Orcish invasion of the city. However, contrary to their expectations, Castamir turns against them and betrays them, allowing the Orcs to pass through the gates. As a result of subsequent events, they are forced to give the Palantir to the Witch King of Angmar in order to save Idril’s life. Castamir is killed by the Witch King, and Talion manages to flee with the aid of Eltariel, an elf assassin who works for Galadriel. The Witch-King then takes control of Minas Ithil and renames it Minas Morgul. Using Palantir, Sauron discovers that Shelob is in possession of Celebrimbor’s Ring and dispatches Nazgûl to seize her. Talion saves Shelob at that precise moment and receives the Ring in return. Shelob then informs Talion that the fate of Middle-earth is in his hands.
